Good Morning Delmarva discusses the 2024 Salute to Our Veterans Gala

WMDT — The Salute to Our Veterans Gala will be held November 13th at UMES in partnership with the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce.

It’s an opportunity commemorate those who have served our country.

This morning Paul Suplee, a chef and lecturer at UMES, stopped by to tell us more about the event and how you can show your support.

Suplee says the annual event is meant to raise money for their silver star scholarship.

The scholarship is awarded to first year students who are either honorably discharged veterans or children of service members who was fallen in service.

The Keynote speaker will be Bob Dickson who served as the Chief of Intelligence at the White House.

Also, something new this year will be a buffet to create a big social atmosphere!

We’re told it’s important to have events like this that provide resources to the youth and to those who have served.
