Georgetown road rage incident under investigation
GEORGETOWN, Del. – Delaware State Police are investigating a road rage incident in Georgetown late Tuesday morning.
Shortly before noon, troopers were called to the area of Springfield Road and Gravel Hill Road for a reported road rage incident involving a gun. It was learned that a 37-year-old victim was driving a Chevrolet Silverado westbound on Johnson Road, approaching the intersection at Gravel Hill Road. When the victim proceeded into the intersection, another Chevrolet Silverado, driven by an unknown male suspect, also pulled into the intersection from eastbound Springfield Road. After nearly crashing, the suspect Silverado began driving behind the victim southbound on Gravel Hill Road, speeding up and entering the oncoming travel lane, parallel to the victim’s vehicle. The suspect then allegedly pointed a handgun at the victim while driving alongside the victim’s driver-side window. After the victim sped up to get in front of the suspect, the suspect fled eastbound on Zoar Road.
Troopers searched for the suspect and suspect’s truck, but were not successful. The suspect was described as a man with a bald head, possibly armed with a handgun. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a white Chevrolet Silverado with a Leer cap on the bed of the truck.
