Four suspects arrested following theft at Under Armour

WEST OCEAN CITY, Md. – Four suspects were arrested following a shoplifting incident at the Under Armour outlet store in West Ocean City on Thursday evening, according to the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the store after receiving a report of a robbery, but upon arrival, it was determined that no robbery had occurred. Instead, the suspects had stolen merchandise and fled the scene in a vehicle. A pursuit ensued, with one suspect fleeing on foot near Assateague Road in Berlin. The suspect was quickly apprehended.

The remaining three suspects continued to flee into Wicomico County where stop sticks were deployed by a Wicomico County Sheriff’s deputy, disabling their vehicle. With assistance from the Maryland State Police, the three suspects were arrested without further incident.

The suspects are facing charges related to shoplifting, and authorities have not yet released their identities. No weapons were involved in the incident, and no injuries were reported.

Sheriff Matt Crisafulli commended the swift response by law enforcement and emphasized the commitment to community safety. “We take these incidents very seriously and will continue to hold those involved in criminal activity accountable,” he said.

The investigation is ongoing.
