Expert gives tips on coping with holiday stress
DELMARVA. – A struggle that some people face during the holidays is maintaining their mental health.
The CDC reported an increase in Depressive symptoms during the holidays. Some individuals may experience heightened stress levels or feeling isolated.
Heather Brown with Behind The Line Inc. said if you notice a loved one displaying any of those signs,
you should encourage them to seek support, so they know they are not alone.
“It’s important to check up on your friends and see how they’re doing, but not pressure them, because they may need some time to process through whatever may be on their mind,” Brown said.
Brown encouraged anyone who is experiencing a mental health crisis to call the crisis lifeline at 988.
