Emerging Leaders: Worcester FFA Team
WMDT – It’s Monday and that means it’s time to introduce you to some new emerging leaders.
This morning, students Hailey Renshaw and Andy Maynard from Worcester Technical High School stopped by to discuss their week at the National FFA Convention.
Their debate team received a bronze medal at the national competition!
Junior Hailey Renshaw tells us that FFA used to stand for Future Farms of America, a program that helps prepare students for the workforce by giving them the skills to succeed.
We’re told there’s always a need for new leaders.
Sophomore Andy Maynard had the opportunity to participate in his freshman year, a chance not every freshman gets to have.
He says that going to nationals has left a huge impact on him.
Renshaw plans to go into the agribusiness field and eventually take over her family’s farm.
Maynard is a golf enthusiast who intends to join a greenkeeping program and work at a golf-related establishment.
Their biggest tip for aspiring students interested in joining the program is not to be afraid of trying new things.
