Delmar holds off Sussex Academy rally for semis win
DOVER, Del. – Delmar was able to overcome Sussex Academy’s fourth quarter comeback, winning 3-2 in overtime Wednesday afternoon.
Jordyn Hollamon scored to start the game off of a penalty corner. The goal was assisted by Laela Brown.
Hollamon would add another off of a corner pass from Brown in the third quarter, putting the Wildcats up 2-0.
Lente Werner scores off a fastbreak pass from Logan Stiles, cutting the deficit in half.
Seahawks’ Werner finds the equalizer in the fourth quarter with a pass from Stiles, leading to overtime.
Hollamon would score her third of the day in overtime off of a corner to send the Wildcats to their tenth-straight field hockey championship game.
