Decatur blows out Parkside to remain undefeated

SALISBURY, Md.- Decatur dominated Parkside 58-14 to remain undefeated Thursday night at the Wicomico County Stadium.

The Seahawks were up 44-0 at halftime with touchdowns from Trybe Wise, Davin Chandler, Vernon Deshields, Evan Copeland, and Brian Chester. Quarterback Johnny Hobgood had five passing touchdowns to lead Decatur.

Parkside saved themselves from being shut out thanks to late-game touchdowns from Tavian Dashiell and James Harmon.

Looking forward to their first opponent of the playoffs, Coach Jake Coleman gave us his thought process on how he achieved going undefeated for the season and claiming the top seed in the 2A.

“It’s all about process, process, staying in the moment not getting caught up in five games from now we could do, x, y, and z. You know we have the first round of the playoffs. We got to focus on our first-round opponent. You push away any type of expectations, cause anytime you have expectations you only set yourself up for disappointment. Alright, so you push them expectations stay inside the moment and the results take care of themself,” Coleman said.
