Black Friday deals and bargains at the Salisbury Mall
SALISBURY, Md. – Black Friday is almost over, and there were so many exciting deals and offers. WMDT went to Salisbury Mall, to speak with local businesses about the holiday.
Local small shops and businesses showed out at the Salisbury Mall for Black Friday, looking to convince community members to check out some bargains. Cedarcrest Homestead Kitten Rescue held an adoption event at the mall.
They wanted to get some exposure to some kittens before the holiday season. Board member, Jamie Barker felt like the holiday brought the exposure the organization wanted.
“We’ve done a few adoption events here, but previously, normally our kittens can be seen at the kitten cafe down at the college. We thought if we bring a group of our finest kittens here, to see if we can get them adopted for the holidays.”
They offered Black Friday deals,” Since we would have a lot of foot traffic here, we’re doing discounted rates on our adoption fees. Any adoption fee is 10 dollars off, and if you adopt a black cat or kitten today, their adoption fees are sponsored.” Said Barker.

There were many local vendors and a Toy Plush was one of them. The small toy shop operates at the Salisbury Mall daily. However, on Black Friday, the store pulls out all the stops.
Shyla Doughty tells WMDT, that working on black Friday is a different adventure.
“It’s gets very crowded, so we got to watch out for stealing since there’s been a lot of shoplifting. We do make a lot of money; I think today was one of the busiest days that we’ve had.”
One local youth football team, The Salisbury Elite showed up at the mall on Black Friday, hoping to get the chance to play for a state championship in Naples Florida.
“The only time we went to Florida was for All Stars; we haven’t been able to go as a team. We’ve been trying to go as a team for the past 4 or 5 years, for us to actually make it to Naples now, it’s actually a blessing.”
The team will be at the mall, located outside Dick’s Sporting Goods, near the food court.
