Wicomico Co. issues Burn Ban

WICOMICO CO., Md. – A Burn Ban has been issued for Wicomico County due to ongoing drought conditions.

The ban takes effect at 12 p.m. Wednesday.

All outdoor burning is prohibited, except for the following:

Gas and charcoal grills for proper use
Campfires at Roaring Point and Sandy Hill campgrounds, confined to designated fire rings, grills, fire pits, fireplaces, or other facilities constructed for fires
Recreational campfires on private property and public campgrounds that are limited to a size of two feet in width and three feet in height
Professional fireworks displays

Violations carry a $500 fine per incident.
