Wicomico Co. issues Burn Ban

WICOMICO CO., Md. – A Burn Ban has been issued for Wicomico County due to ongoing drought conditions.

The ban takes effect at 12 p.m. Wednesday.

All outdoor burning is prohibited, except for the following:

  • Gas and charcoal grills for proper use
  • Campfires at Roaring Point and Sandy Hill campgrounds, confined to designated fire rings, grills, fire pits, fireplaces, or other facilities constructed for fires
  • Recreational campfires on private property and public campgrounds that are limited to a size of two feet in width and three feet in height
  • Professional fireworks displays

Violations carry a $500 fine per incident.
