UPDATE: Police arrest pair in connection to fatal shooting in Cambridge
CAMBRIDGE, Md. – Maryland State Police have arrested two people in connection to a fatal shooting in Cambridge last week.
At around 7 p.m. on October 20th, officers responded to reports of multiple shots fired in the 600 block of Pine Street. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man, identified as 26-year-old Virgil Simms IV, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Police and EMS provided aid to Simms, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police also reportedly found several vehicles damaged by gunfire and recovered spent shell casings.
Further investigation led police to identify the suspects as 18-year-old Jo’Mir Norman and a 15-year-old male, both from Cambridge. The pair are charged with first degree murder and are being held without bond.
