Trio arrested on drug charges in Magnolia

MAGNOLIA, Del. – An investigation into the distribution of illegal narcotics from a Magnolia property led to three arrests earlier this week.

On Tuesday, law enforcement executed a search warrant at a house on Nascar Lane as a result of the investigation. Detectives located six people at the property, including 29-year-old Takeya Benson, 24-year-old Samuel Horton, and 33-year-old Clarence Sullivan. Police reportedly saw Sullivan trying to discard narcotics out of a window when they arrived.

Detectives found the following at the property:

  • Approximately 182.46 grams of crack cocaine
  • Approximately 72.04 grams of cocaine
  • Approximately 88.65 grams of heroin
  • Approximately 75.76 grams of psilocybin mushrooms
  • Three Oxycodone pills
  • $1,182 in suspected drug dealing money
  • Drug paraphernalia and digital scales

Two of the six individuals detained were arrested for misdemeanor offenses and capias warrants, and one was released without incident. Benson, Horton, and Sullivan were all taken into custody.

Benson was charged with possession of a controlled substance in a tier 3 quantity, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, maintaining a drug property, second degree conspiracy, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was held at the Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on a $148,400 cash bond.

Horton was charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance in a tier 3 quantity, three counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, second degree conspiracy, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held at SCI on a $422,400 cash bond.

Sullivan was charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance in a tier 1 and tier 2 quantity, tampering with physical evidence, second degree conspiracy, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held at SCI on a $10,000 cash bond.
