Traffic stop leads to arrest of teens in Milford

MILFORD, Del. – A traffic stop in Milford last week led to the arrest of an 18-year-old and 16-year-old.

Just before 9:30 p.m., an officer with the Milford Police Department stopped a vehicle in the area of Route 113 and Route 14. During the stop, the officer learned that the driver did not have a valid driver’s license, and it was discovered that the 16-year-old male passenger was in possession of a loaded handgun. During a search of the car, officers reportedly found another handgun.

The driver, identified as 18-year-old Zion Demby, was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, and driving without a valid license. He was held on a $10,001 secured bond.

The 16-year-old was charged with two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession, purchase, own or control a deadly weapon under 18, possession, purchase, own, or control of ammunition under 18, and two counts of carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
