Three-month long drug investigation leads to arrest of Dagsboro man
DAGSBORO, Del. – A Dagsboro man is behind bars following a three-month drug investigation.
On Thursday, law enforcement members executed a search warrant at a house in the 32000 block of Dupont Boulevard, locating nine people at the property, including 62-year-old John Rickards.
During the search, police found the following:
- Approximately 197.02 grams of marijuana
- Approximately 2.03 grams of cocaine
- Approximately 2.85 grams of methamphetamine
- Approximately 0.12 grams of crack cocaine
- Drug paraphernalia and digital scales
- $641 in suspected drug money
- Stolen John Deere Gator UTV
- Several stolen power tools
Following the search, four of the individuals detained were charged with misdemeanor offenses and capias warrants, and the others were released without incident, with the exception of Rickards.
Rickards was charged with operating a clandestine laboratory, three counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, maintaining a drug property, possession of ac controlled substance in a tier 1 quantity, receiving stolen property over $1,500, three counts of receiving stolen property under $1,500, resisting arrest, three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, and criminal nuisance – maintaining a place for unlawful conduct.
He was held at SCI on a $59,000 cash bond.
