Worcester County Humane Society asking for help from the public

BERLIN, Md. – The Worcester County Humane Society is asking for donations to help animals affected by Hurricane Helene. Worcester County Humane officials are collecting the donations on behalf of the Yancey County Humane Society in North Carolina — an area that was hit hard by the storm. The non-profit needs food, bedding, and other supplies to help with the intake of new animals displaced by the hurricane.

Shelter Manager Katherine Norton also tells WMDT “If anybody knows any veterinarian willing to do non-prescription preventatives for dogs, kittens, and puppies. That is heavily needed right now.”

If you wish to donate you can visit the Worcester County Humane Society in Berlin this Saturday from 11am to 5pm to drop off your donations.
