New Museum of Ocean City is planning on restoring downtown

OCEAN CITY, Md. – Ocean City is offering a new way for people to connect with history.

The old Bank of Ocean City has been restored as a new museum in downtown Ocean City.

The Museum works alongside the life-saving station museum but offers more exhibits, including about the indigenous people and native wildlife, as well as hotel and restaurant exhibits.

The focus will be on the history of the island. Curator for the museum Christine Okerblom, encourages people to visit because there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

“When you walk in here, you get to experience exhibits that talk about the cultural and natural history of Ocean City. We invite people to check out the space as it is now, even though it is empty we want people to see this newly restored building.”

The museum is planning to have all the exhibits installed and functional by January 2025.

You can visit at 217 S. Baltimore Avenue. You can donate to the museum here.
