String of crimes in Milford area leads to three juvenile arrests
MILFORD, Del. – Milford Police say three juveniles have been arrested following a string of crimes in the area.
We’re told between October 3rd and October 7th, police took several reports for stolen vehicles, attempted stolen vehicles, and burglaries throughout City limits in both Kent and Sussex Counties. Through investigative efforts, two male juveniles were identified as suspects, and detectives additionally learned that one of the suspects allegedly set one of the stolen vehicles on fire.
The first suspect, a 17-year-old from Milford, was charged with four counts of theft of a motor vehicle, six counts of second degree conspiracy, attempted theft of a motor vehicle, third degree burglary, two counts of criminal mischief $1000 but less than $5000 three counts of criminal mischief over $1000, and two counts of criminal mischief under $1000. He was later held at the Stevenson House Detention Center on a $12,500 secured bond and was issued a no-contact order with the victims.
The second suspect, a 13-year-old from Milford, was charged with four counts of theft of a motor vehicle, six counts of second degree conspiracy, attempted theft of a motor vehicle, third degree burglary, two counts of criminal mischief $1000 but less than $5000, three counts of criminal mischief over $1000, and two counts of criminal mischief under $1000. He was also held at the Stevenson House Detention Center on a $15,700 secured bond and a no-contact order with the victims.
Further investigation revealed that a third juveniles male was involved in the burglary investigation and one of the stolen vehicle incidents, which resulted in the arson investigation. The third suspect, a 17-year-old from Milford, was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, two counts of second degree conspiracy, third degree burglary, criminal mischief over $1000, and two counts of criminal mischief under $1000. He was later released on his own recognizance to a parent/guardian and issued a no-contact order with the victims.
