Seahawks soar past the Vikings

GEORGETOWN, Del. – The Seahawks shut out Cape Henlopen, 2-0, Tuesday night in Georgetown.

In the first half, Liam Stegall found Chase Ballinger wide open for the opening score of the game.

Sussex Academy scored again following halftime. A high kicked ball was fielded by the Cape goalie, but was bobbled and Jesse Jean-Lewis was there to boot it in.

Goalie Carter Norton was key, as he had four crucial saves, as Sussex Academy earned their seventh shutout of the season.

When we talked to Head Coach RJ Dina, he had this to say about playing against Cape and thoughts on repeating this fall.

“When it’s a cross-town rival then (our players) just focus in on this one. You could see it in the training session yesterday with how they performed. You can see how they warmed up today that this is one that they wanted. This is a team that has matured and grown up a lot just from the start of the year to now. And that’s what we’re focused on. If we try to go beyond that we start to lose sight of what our goals actually are, which is just win the day.”
