Salisbury Zoo holds annual ‘Halloween Happening’
SALISBURY, Md. – Saturday the Salisbury Zoo held their first of several Halloween events.
The Zoo’s “Halloween Happening” gives kids and families a chance to dress up in costume and trick-or-treat while playing games, winning prizes, and visiting with the animals.
Officials say their annual Halloween event has turned into a favorite for many families, bringing in huge crowds.
“This is actually our largest event that we put on every single year. Each weekend we see up to 2,000 people that come through the zoo between one and 4 p.m. So it is a lot of people that come through in a short period of time. We’ve changed our layout a couple of times to kind of help with that influx of people and that flow,” said Kelly Colbert, Education Curator at the Salisbury Zoo.
According to Colbert, the Zoo raised over $20,000 from last year’s event.
If you missed Saturday’s fun, you can still get a ticket for next weekend’s Halloween Happening on Saturday, October 19th.
