UPDATE: Police investigating Cambridge shooting that left one dead
CAMBRIDGE, Md. – Police say one person is dead following a shooting Sunday evening in Cambridge.
At around 7 p.m., officers responded to reports of multiple shots fired in the 600 block of Pine Street. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man, identified as 26-year-old Virgil Simms IV, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Police and EMS provided aid to Simms, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police also reportedly found several vehicles damaged by gunfire and recovered spent shell casings.
