One man dead in Milton car crash
MILTON, Del. – A single-vehicle crash left one man dead early Sunday morning.
According to police, at 12:13 a.m. a Toyota Corolla was travelling east on Stockley Road, west of Beaver Dam Road.
While driving at high speed, the Toyota swerved off the road, striking a mailbox in the 29000 block of Stockley Road and continuing through the front yard of a residence before crashing into a tree.
The driver, a 66-year-old man from Lewes, was pronounced dead on the scene. Police say the man was not properly seat-belted.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of family.
Delaware State Police continue to investigate the incident. They ask anyone who might have witnessed the crash to contact Senior Corporal J. Smith at (302) 703-3267.
