Ocean Pines Aquatic Department will host new junior lifeguard programs
OCEAN PINES, Md. – New junior lifeguard programs will be offered on school closure days. The courses will teach children water safety and provide activities.
The Ocean Pines Aquatics Department will offer single-day and six-session versions, designed for children ages 7 and up.
Single-day courses will be held at the Sports Core Pool from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The dates include Nov 5th, January 27th, February 17th, and April 4th.
The cost is $75 for Ocean Pines residents and $80 for non-residents.
The cost for this extended program is $135 for residents and $150 for non-residents.
Course Instructor Steve Yarzinsky is excited to start helping the youth on their days off school. “It’s really exciting, I think the kids who do it, are going to develop their swimming skills, their confidence in the water, but most importantly their safety when they’re with their family and friends.”
Most of the class will take place in the deep end of the pool.
