Health experts want people to stay aware of their mental health

DELMARVA. – This week marks the end of National Mental Health Awareness Week. Mental illness is one of the most common health conditions in the United States.

This can range from mild to severe and can include many symptoms. Other diseases can be caused or exacerbated by symptoms, this includes Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder.

Many resources are available to combat this, including from Midshore Behavioral Health. Chief Executive Officer, Katie Dilley said the group focuses on providing a lifeline to those in need. “So, one of our primary goals as an organization, Midshore Behavioral Health, is to help educate and inform the community on the importance of taking care of one’s whole person.”

It’s important to know, if you are struggling, there are resources available across all of Delmarva.

“I think one of the most important things is just realizing that it’s okay and completely acceptable and encouraged to seek support.” Said, Dilley.
