Good Morning Delmarva discusses Wings and Wheels 2024
WMDT – The wings and wheels fall festival is this coming weekend – October 4th and 5th.
It’s an opportunity to people of all ages to see a high intensity aviation and classic car show while helping to support local non-profits.
There will be a mix of vintage aircrafts and modern aircrafts.
We spoke with Linda Price, the president of the Greater Georgetown Chamber of Commerce, who tells us this event is special for those who like to show they’re for support the military and see them in action.
On Friday, they will host the pathway for aviation program for middle and high school kids.
They’ll get to meet aviation schools and vendors to learn about the different career opportunities out there.
Saturday is the main event, and it starts at 10 am with an opening ceremony.
There will be flour bombing, parachuting, live music from the local band Flipside, food, games and more.
You can even book a ride on one of the vintage warbirds!
Something new this year is their partnership with Cars and Coffee Annual Toy Drive.
Again, the event will kick off with a beach party October 4th and will continue with the main event on Saturday.
Delaware Coastal Airport will be closed the day of the show so all parking will be at Sussex Academy with tram transportation.
The event is free, but parking will be 5 dollars!
