Good Morning Delmarva discusses the Wicomico Mentoring Project
WMDT – It’s the 30th anniversary of the Wicomico Mentoring Project which is helping young students across the county.
This morning, Linda Mullen and Tamyra Foreman, stopped by to tell us more about being a mentor and how you could be one.
The project is a part of the public school system and serves over 16,000 students.
Mullen says that their diversity is ever increasing.
They want students to feel like they are a part of the community and show them what they can experience outside of the area.
They are currently recruiting members and say they are looking for someone who can be relatable, positive, and encouraging.
Mentors come in for an hour a week and help students by participating in activities such as playing games, coloring, or helping with academics.
