Former Smyrna PD Detective pleads guilty in child sexual exploitation case

SMYRNA, Del. – A former Smyrna Police Department detective has pleaded guilty to coercing and enticing a minor to engage in illicit sexual activity.

Kealty was charged last year after court documents revealed that he distributed child pornography through his Snapchat account.

He is scheduled for sentencing on February 12, 2025. He faces a mandatory minimum of ten years in prison and a maximum of life in prison.
