Food Bank of Delaware in need of volunteers, hosting open house events
MILFORD, Del. – The Food Bank of Delaware needs volunteers to help at its Healthy Pantry Center in Milford.
The Food Bank will be hosting two open house events where visitors will get a behind-the-scenes tour of the facility, meet the team, and learn about different roles available for volunteers.
With over 100 people coming to the pantry every day, officials say that volunteer work is the heart and soul of their operations.
“Volunteers are critical to everything that we do at the food bank. When we add up all of our volunteer hours, it’s the equivalent of 27 full time staff members. So we really can’t do what we do without volunteers,” said Kim Turner, Vice President of Communications with the Food Bank of Delaware.
The open house events will be held on October 30th from 10am to 11am, and October 31st from 1:30pm to 2:30pm, located at the food bank of Delaware in Milford.
