Fire fighters warn against carbon monoxide poisoning ahead of temperature drops
DELMARVA – Temperatures are dipping, which means you may be ready to crank up the heat.
However heating your home using sources like a fireplace or a space heater could pose a risk for carbon monoxide poisoning. Carbon monoxide is a silent killer that firefighter Rob Frampton is warning the public about during these colder seasons.
He said making sure you have carbon monoxide and smoke detectors in your home could save your life.
“It’s important you have a smoke alarm and a carbon monoxide alarm in your house. If you need a smoke alarm, you can stop by any of our stations to pick one up; carbon monoxide alarms, you can buy them from stores like Lowes and Home Depot, but those are hazards that definitely increase this time of year,” Frampton said,
