Family and community planning special weekend for Jeremiah Shaw
CAMBRIDGE, Md. – Saturday and Sunday there will be special celebrations for Jeremiah Shaw, a 10-year-old from Cambridge who is battling Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome and neurodegenerative disease.
In august the Cambridge community came together, organizing a parade in honor of Jeremiah’s birthday.
His parents say that sadly Jeremiah might not have much time left, which is why they want to have one last big weekend to put a smile on his face, and so that everyone he’s touched can have a chance to see him.
“I think with this event, it will probably be the last event. I’m not saying the last thing that’ll happen, but as far as events go. So people have time to take off for work, people who haven’t seen Jeremiah in a while, for those people to come. People come from all over because he’s been in almost every hospital in Maryland,” said Chris Shaw, Jeremiah’s father.
Saturday, October 26th, is Jeremiah’s Christmas-in-October at 8523 Ocean Gateway in Easton at 4pm. RSVP by contacting 786-825-3007.
There is a parade planned for Sunday, October 27th, in Cambridge on Somerset Ave.
