Emerging Leader: Kelly Coutts

WMDT – It’s Monday and that means it’s time for emerging leaders.

Meet Kelly Coutts.

She’s a reading specialist at St. Michaels Elementary School and recently was given the Fullbright Teacher Exchange Award. It’s a prestigious honor that allows her to teach in another country.

We sat down with Kelly to learn what it felt like to receive such an honor and more on what it entails.

Kelly has already visited 35 countries so far and has even ridden her bike from Seattle to Boston, but she tells us this opportunity is extra special.

She will be among 80 other educators working together to build global competency.

In February, she will attend a global symposium in D.C. then travel to her host country in the spring or summer.
