Emerging Leader: Katherine Rodgers

WMDT – It’s Monday and that means it’s time for a new emerging leader!

Katherine Rodgers is the director of community health initiatives at Tidal Health and was recently appointed by Governor Wes Moore to the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange Board of Trustees (MHBE).

This morning, Katherine stopped by Good Morning Delmarva to tell us more about this great honor and what it entails.

Rodgers says that MHBE operates Maryland Health Connection which helps to provide affordable health care insurance to residents in the area.

The board consists of 9 members and previously had one person representing the eastern shore, but she has now been appointed in their place.

Katherine formerly worked with a cohort in 2013 to help launch the exchange which made her a prime candidate for the position.

She tells us she’s extremely passionate about everyone having access to equitable health care so the best part about this opportunity is the chance to give back to the community.
