Dover homicide under investigation

DOVER, Del. – Dover Police are currently investigating a homicide in the unit block of South Governors Avenue.

At around 3:45 p.m. Monday, officers were called to the area for a report of shots fired, arriving at the scene to find a 50-year-old man suffering from several gunshot wounds to his upper body.

The victim was taken to an area hospital and later airlifted to Christiana Hospital, but died as a result of his injuries. His name is being withheld pending family notification.

We’re told there are no additional leads at this time.
