FEDERALSBURG, Md.- JZ Farms is the perfect spot to enjoy the fall season. The farm is owned and operated by Zach and Jane Blough who were kind enough to give WMDT a look around and tell us their story that brings this venue to life “We opened up in Fall 2021. My husband and I decided to have a fun event for the community to come out.”
The venue has over twenty activities for people of all ages to enjoy. There’s loads of fun to dive into with a wide assortment of options “We have a U-Pick pumpkin patch that people are more than welcome to go pick pumpkins. We have so many varieties they can pick out whatever they like.” Blough says they also offer flowers while supplies last “Right now we have our U-Pick sunflowers and our U-Pick zinnias and cut flowers.”
Staying in those fields Blough says they have a challenging activity for people of all ages”A kids’ corn maze where you can’t get lost. Or if you want a challenge you can try out an eight-acre corn maze. And you might get lost in there.” The maze is Peanuts-themed, with Snoopy making an appearance in the field.
Blough tells WMDT about one of the fan favorites “Our ropes course is one of our most popular attractions.” Some activities will test your coordination and your jump shot “Our basketball hoops are in the corn bin. We also have a paintball attraction and a slingshot area”
The number one attraction among the kids would have to be the town of Farmersville. Artisan-built houses all themed eloquently setting a welcoming stage for the farms’ grounds With so many activities there is one sticking point throughout the grounds of a fall staple in the air “We have apple cider donuts that we make here daily. We also have apple cider slushies.” With great food made fresh every day the cider donuts act as a perfect choice to fill the fall air bringing the community together.
Blough says the Fall Fest is open through November 10th Thursday through Sunday. Although, they stay open until 8 pm Fridays and Saturdays throughout October for the option to try the corn maze in the dark. For more information check out their website for hours and planning your visit.
