Delmar grinds out win against district rivals

DELMAR, Del. – The Wildcats defense kept them in the game long enough for the offense to take over late. Delmar downs their Henlopen South rival Laurel, 19-6, Friday night to move to 7-1 on the season.

With the score tied at 6-6 late in the fourth, Delmar marched down to the Laurel-3, but faced a fourth-and-goal situation. Ayden McCauley found Khalid Schoolfield in the flat for a touchdown to take the lead.

A snap over the Laurel quarterback’s head led to a defensive score that sealed the win.
