Bennett Clippers claim three-peat as Bayside Champions
SNOW HILL, Md.- The Bennett Clippers beat the Queen Anne’s Lady Lions 3-2 to win their third straight Bayside Championship.
The Lions drew first blood with Kara Ringold’s first-half goal. However, the undefeated Clippers responded to tie the game shortly before halftime. In the second half, it was all Bennett. Freshman Attack Gracie Core scored two goals to secure the chip.
She said after the game that her teammates were the only thing she was thinking about as she put the game away.
“First I look at my teammates because they help me with everything. They’re my motivation for everything so it’s good to make them happy,” she said.
“Pride doesn’t even begin to describe what I feel for these kids, every day they come to school, then after school they have to come to practice and then at the end of the day, come play a game like this. I really believe we represented our school perfectly tonight. For three in a row, yeah we’re really happy,” Clipper Head Coach Edmund O’ Leary said.
