Assault leaves one injured in Georgetown, police investigating

GEORGETOWN, Del. – An investigation is underway following an overnight assault in Georgetown.

According to police, a report came in from Beebe Healthcare in Lewes at around 1:30 a.m. regarding an assault. Investigation revealed that at around 10:30 p.m. that evening, a female was pulling into the driveway of her home in the 18000 block of Sandhill Road when she saw a car parked on the side of the road. When the victim approached the car to check it out, she was allegedly attacked by an unknown man.

She was able to use a flashlight taser to defend herself, at which time the suspect fled.

The victim suffered minor injuries.
