Arrest made in Dover homicide

DOVER, Del. – Dover Police have made an arrest in the death of a 50-year-old man earlier this week.

The arrest was made during the execution of a search warrant at a Dover residence on Wednesday. The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Alexander Singletary, was taken into custody, as well as 18-year-old Jaylan Koroma, who was arrested on charges unrelated to the homicide.

Singletary was charged with first degree murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and three counts of possession of a firearm by a person prohibited. He was held at SCI on a $1,060,000 cash bail.

Police have also identified the victim in the homicide as 50-year-old Barry Best.

Koroma was charged with non compliance with bond and held at SCI on a $2,000 secured bail.
