Worcester County Sherrif’s Office urges motorist to stay safe during Bike Fest

MARYLAND – The annual Ocean City Bike Fest starts September 10th, and local Law Enforcement urges riders to practice motorcycle safety.

The five-day event will occur at the Ocean City Inlet and Roland E. Powell Convention Center, where thousands of motorists gather all along Coastal Highway. Sherrif Matt Crisafulli with the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office says that they welcome all who come out to visit the town, but public safety is their top priority.

He says there are a few things to be mindful of during these times. “With the increased traffic, that’s obviously going to increase the chances for some type of motor vehicle collision… This is just a situation where everyone has to be patient with each other, and they have to expect these delays over the next 4 days starting tomorrow so leave early if you have to.”

The Bike Fest starts tomorrow September 11th and goes through the 15th. Sheriff Crisafulli says roads will be backed up, and getting to places will take longer, but patience can be the difference between going home and a potential accident.
