Volunteers sought for 2024 Maryland Folk Festival
SALISBURY, Md. – The Maryland Folk Festival returns later this month, and organizers are looking for volunteers to help out.
The three-day festival celebrates music, arts, culture, folklife, and more in the Downtown Salisbury area. We’re told hundreds of volunteers are needed to make the event a success, with a variety of volunteer roles available. The roles with the highest need are Guest Services, Bike Valet, and Bucket Brigade, as well as the early Friday shifts for the Marketplace and early Saturday shifts for the Folklife area.
All volunteers will receive a free t-shirt, and students in need of service learning hours can earn them by volunteering at the festival. Volunteers must be at least 12 years old, and volunteers 12 to 15 must be accompanied by an adult parent or guardian. 16 and 17-year-old volunteers do not need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian but must have one co-sign a waiver form. Officials say some volunteer roles have a minimum age requirement.
A volunteer orientation is scheduled for Wednesday, September 18th, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the City of Salisbury Headquarters, 115 S. Division Street.
