UPDATE: Fenwick releases an update on beach conditions and medical waste
FENWICK, Del. – Fenwick Island has released new information regarding beach conditions and medical waste that has been washing ashore on along the eastern shore. At this time no medical waste was found during the last few days of inspection. Information is still limited at this time of where it came from and whether any more waste is expected.
Beach access in Fenwick remains open, but officials want visitors to be cautious and wear closed toe footwear while on the beach. Also, swimming is not advised at this time now that the beaches are unguarded and a coastal storm is heading up the east coast at this time.
DNREC also has issued a swimming advisory in effect through September 23rd.
Officials say if you find medical waste, please let Town Hall know right away so they can dispose of it safely.
