Two teens arrested on numerous firearm charges following robbery

MILFORD, Del. – Milford Police say they arrested two juveniles on robbery and gun charges Wednesday afternoon.

Shortly before 4 p.m., officers were called to a reported armed robbery in the 800 block of SE 4th Street. It was reported that the suspects were believed to be in the backyard of a residence in the 800 block of SE 4th Street, and officers were able to locate the two juvenile suspects.

Officers then reportedly found two handguns in a backpack next to the juveniles, which were determined to be “ghost guns”, or untraceable firearms. A search warrant was obtained for the property where the juveniles were found, leading to the discovery of a third “ghost gun” handgun and a submachine gun inside the suspect’s bedroom. Additionally, police found a single shot 410 rifle in an outbuilding on the property. All the firearms were seized by police.

The first suspect, a 17-year-old male, was charged with first degree robbery, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, five counts of possession, purchase, own or control of a deadly weapon by a person under 18, two counts of carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a destructive weapon, three counts of possession of an untraceable firearm, second degree conspiracy, and breach of release. The teen was held at the Stevenson House Detention Center on a $175,000 cash bond and a no-contact order with the co-defendant and victim.

The second suspect, a 15-year-old male, was charged with first degree robbery, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, two counts of possession, purchase, own or control a deadly weapon by a person under 18, possession, purchase, own or control of ammunition by person under 18, two counts of carrying a concealed deadly weapon, two counts of possession of an untraceable firearm, and second degree conspiracy. He was also held at the Stevenson House Detention Center on a $68,000 cash bond, and issued a no-contact order with the co-defendant and victim.
