Traffic stop leads to multiple charges for Seaford man
SEAFORD, Del. – A Seaford man is behind bars on numerous charges stemming from a traffic stop on Tuesday.
At around 11:30 a.m., Sussex County Governor’s Task Force officers were on patrol when they reportedly saw a Chevrolet Silverado driving northbound on Atlanta Road, near Bucks Branch Road, with an equipment violation. Detectives stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, identified as 46-year-old Terrance Banks. It was discovered that the truck’s insurance was expired and Banks could not provide any proof that he was the registered owner of the truck.
Banks reportedly refused multiple verbal commands to step out of the truck but was eventually taken into custody and found in possession of approximately 7.68 grams of cocaine and approximately $1,821 in suspected drug money.
Banks was charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a tier 3 quantity, two counts of possession of a controlled substance in a tier 3 quantity, resisting arrest, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, improper window tinting, failure to have insurance identification in possession, and failure to transfer title and registration. He was held at SCI on an $84,500 cash bond.
