SNOW HILL, Md. – Tiffany Knupp has entered an Alford Plea on embezzlement charges.

Knupp was charged earlier this year with three counts of embezzlement, five counts of theft $1500 to under $25,000, and one count of theft $100 to under $1500. The charges stem from an investigation regarding Knupp’s use of funds from the Gavin Knupp Foundation, established in October 2023 as a non-profit organization aiming to commemorate the life of Gavin.

Tuesday morning, Knupp appeared in court, where she entered an Alford Plea, which means she did not admit guilt but admitted that there was enough evidence to convict her. She was subsequently sentenced to one year of unsupervised probation and ordered to pay $6,500 in restitution. Additionally, the judge ordered that Knupp’s name be removed from all counts with the Foundation, and the Foundation must be dissolved immediately. Funds still within the Foundation must be distributed by current board members to a different foundation.
