Sen. Mary Beth Carozza working to combat flooding issue in Crisfield

CRISFIELD, Md. – Dealing with flooding is a way of life in Crisfield, especially this time of year. And with recent tidal flooding impacting the area, officials are looking for new ways to combat the issue.

State Senator, Mary Beth Carozza, said it starts when state, local and federal officials join forces to tackle the problem head on. She added she’s been working hand in hand with city officials, garnering support from the government that will go towards fortifying the city against the high waters.

“You have to look into the infrastructure, you need to prevent the type of flooding in the future,” Senator Carozza said. “The good news is that the city of Crisfield secured a federal grant to do just that, to begin to put the infrastructure in place to better protect the city of Crisfield and all of Somerset County.”
