Registered sex offender arrested for soliciting minor in Dover
DOVER, Del. – Dover Police have arrested a registered sex offender for allegedly soliciting a 13-year-old.
Police say they were contacted this month regarding the incident, determining through the investigation that 63-year-old Clarence Edwards had solicited the child for sexual contact several times. He also reportedly sent the victim several inappropriate photos.
Police additionally determined that Edwards was a registered Tier 2 Sex Offender as a result of a 2005 conviction. Edwards turned himself in on Thursday and was charged with eight counts of sex offender unlawful sexual conduct, three counts of sexual solicitation of a child, and five counts of obscenity material provided to a person less than 18 years old.
