One injured in Dover shooting, police investigating

DOVER, Del. – An investigation is underway following a shooting that left a Dover man injured Thursday night.

Just before 9 p.m., officers were called to the 100 block of Willis Road for a report of shots fired. While checking the area, officers learned that a 25-year-old victim arrived at Bayhealth Kent Campus via private vehicle with a gunshot wound to his upper body.

Further investigation revealed that the victim was driving on Willis Road when an unknown suspect reportedly began shooting at his vehicle. The victim then drove himself to the hospital.

Police say two occupied homes were also shot during this incident, but no additional injuries were reported.
