OCPD provides update on workplace misconduct investigation

OCEAN CITY, Md. – Ocean City Police have provided an update on a workplace misconduct investigation launched earlier this year.

The complaint was submitted in April and involved five Ocean City Police Officers. We’re told at this time, the investigation is still ongoing to allow the Worcester County Administrative Charging Committee to review the findings from the investigation. Once the evaluation is complete, a disciplinary recommendation will be made to Police Chief Buzzuro, and the individuals involved can accept the disciplinary recommendation or opt to go before a trial board, which is similar to a court proceeding.

“We promised our community that we would take this matter seriously and were committed to conducting a comprehensive and meticulous investigation into the citizens’ complaint that was received in April. After an extensive investigation, the Office of Professional Standards submitted its findings to the Worcester County Administrative Charging Committee this week. We want to reiterate our commitment to transparency in this process, ensuring that our community is informed at every step,” commented Chief Buzzuro.
