Ocean Pines Police Department receives grant money to bolster public safety in the community

OCEAN PINES, Md – The Ocean Pines Police Department has received new grant money to help bolster its public safety efforts.

More than $61,000 has been awarded to the department. This money will be going towards body armor, new body cameras, and police recruitment.

Chief of Police, Tim Robinson, said this new financial backing will continue to establish Ocean Pines Police as a premier department in the state of Maryland.

“Anytime you google safest communities in the state of Maryland, ocean pines usually pop-up number one or in the top 3 so we’re very proud of that, so my job is to make sure it stays like that.”

Additional grants, provided by the Maryland Highway Safety Office, will also be used for speed enforcement and impaired driving protections.
