Ocean City Police makes arrest in hit-and-run case Friday
OCEAN CITY, Md – Ocean City Police have arrested Michael Scot Schneider, of New York, in a hit-and-run case Friday. The collision occurred on 12th Street and Philadelphia Avenue.
Around 9 pm officers located a juvenile male suffering from life-threatening injuries. He has been flown to R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma in Baltimore Maryland.
The investigation revealed that the juvenile was walking in a marked crosswalk when the motorcyclist struck the victim. Officers found Schneider several hours later in West Ocean City, with signs of impairment.
Schneider has been transported to the Ocean City Police Department. He has been charged with twelve traffic offenses, such as driving under the influence and failing to remain on the scene of an accident resulting in bodily injury or death.
Schneider is being held without bond and has been transferred to the Worcester County Jail.
