New Berlin Community Center to move forward in ‘America’s Coolest Small Town’
BERLIN, Md – A new community center is set to move forward and begin construction after receiving approval.
Flower Street is the proposed site, the plan is for the center to be a gathering place. For after school activities, recreational activities, and to offer meeting spaces for business.
The timetable for the site to be done is still undecided, and the town is figuring out their next steps with a feasibility study to be done in the coming months.
Mayor, Zach Tyndall, said this is a long time coming. “We have been trying to do this for over 20 years, it’s not something new, it’s just something we have been getting everybody at the table to agree on, it’s a partnership between the town of Berlin, the Berlin community improvement association, and our community Worcester County serves on our advisory committee as well, so it’s our community coming together to build something long overdue.”
The town of Berlin has a survey on its website to get input for what town members may want in their local community center.
