UPDATE: Milford man arrested on murder charges
9/24 UPDATE: Milford Police have released additional information on this murder.
The victim has been identified as 50-year-old Rose-Lourdes Gerson Garcon. Police say Garcon and Oldens were roommates and were not related.
It was also determined that the homicide was a stabbing.

9/23 UPDATE: WMDT was able to obtain the court documents that reveal the gruesome details in this case.
According to court documents, Oldens told police that voices told him to hurt and kill people. It was further determined that while his grandmother was at church, Oldens retrieved a knife from the kitchen and slit the throat of a woman who appeared to also live in the home on Lakeview Avenue. The victim was found by police lying in a pool of blood in the home.
Court documents also suggest that Oldens suffered from mental health issues after moving to the United States from Haiti.

MILFORD, DEL. – Milford Police have arrested a man on murder charges following an investigation Sunday afternoon.
Just before 1 p.m., police were called to N. Church Street, in the area of SW Front Street, for a report of an 18-year-old man having mental health issues. The subject reportedly told officers that he had killed someone.
Further investigation led officers to a residence in the 400 block of Lakeview Avenue, where they found a 50-year-old woman deceased.
The 18-year-old, identified as Edouard Oldens, was taken into custody and charged with first degree murder and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. He was held on a $680,000 cash bail.
